Surfers Paradise Beach
About the Beach
Surfers Paradise Beach is the iconic Gold Coast strip. High-rises stack up along the entire foreshore, the beach itself is wide and open, and the vibe is relentlessly full-on. This isn't a quiet getaway. It's one of Australia's most recognisable stretches of sand and it leans hard into that.
Surf runs consistent year-round. Head down early, before the sea breezes develop, and you'll find the cleanest conditions of the day. Once the wind picks up mid-morning, the water gets choppier and conditions for surfing drop off pretty quickly.
Beach patrols are extensive and well-organised. There's a designated patrolled swimming area and you should stick to it. Rip hazards are present and they're real, so swim between the flags and pay attention.
Parking is paid throughout Surfers Paradise. There are plenty of car parks spread right through the area, so you'll find a spot without too much hassle on most days.
Conditions at 10:26 am
Light southerly winds around 14km/h with a large 1.5m swell from the east. A mild 21°C in the air with comfortable 23°C in the water, and a falling tide. Clear skies with a moderate UV index of 3.
