Cable Beach
Live conditions and scores
Cable Beach stretches 22 kilometres along the Indian Ocean in Western Australia's Kimberley region, a wide sweep of pristine white sand meeting turquoise water in one of the country's most remote and spectacular settings. The scale is genuinely breathtaking. You can walk for hours and still not reach the end.
The real drawcard is the sunset. The beach is famous for camel rides at dusk, where you'll traverse the sand as the sun drops over the water, painting the sky brilliant orange and red. It's one of those experiences that actually lives up to the hype.
Coastal breezes keep things comfortable despite the tropical latitude, and the warm waters are swimmable year-round. The dry season, roughly April to October, brings the best beach weather. Just know it's an outback coastal experience, remote and raw. Development along the beach is minimal, which keeps the atmosphere open and uncrowded. It's about 8.5km from Broome town centre, so you'll need wheels to get here.
