Hamelin Bay Beach

About the Beach

Hamelin Bay is where you come to see wild stingrays. In ankle-deep water, these creatures wade right past you like they own the place. It's genuinely bizarre and unforgettable, the kind of thing you'll tell people about for years. There's nowhere else quite like it in the entire world.

You're in Leeuwin-Naturaliste National Park here, right on the famous Cape to Cape Track. The protected bay stays calm, with white sand and clear water that feels almost like a lagoon. It's perfect for families with kids who want to wade and explore safely, without the swell throwing them around.

There are 11 shipwrecks scattered around the bay, relics from sailing days gone by. It adds a real layer of mystery to your swim. Head down on a calm, still day for the best experience. Don't expect glassy waves, but you won't get dumped on either, which is a nice trade-off.

Tomorrow's Forecast

Expecting strong northerly winds around 24km/h with a solid 1.2m swell from the south-west. Cool 16°C in the air expected with comfortable 21°C in the water, and a falling tide. Cloudy skies with a minimal UV index of 0.
